Prop Maker- 3D printing, Sculpting, mold making and casting in silicon.
For this project I was tasked with creating a sickly looking bird fetus that could be manipulated on camera. I sculpted, molded and casted the bird in dragon skin. Mold was created using a platinum-cure silicon with a plaster shell. I 3D printed a bird skeleton to serve as an anatomical base to help exaggerate bones under skin. Because the film is shot in black and white, silicon needed to be tinted in reds and yellows to ensure proper tonal contrast on camera.
